Breve descripción

Es un curso cuatrimestral de 60 horas presenciales y 15 horas no presenciales. Además se requieren entre 20 y 40 horas de práctica complementaria. Durante el curso se trabajaran las cinco destrezas principales de la lengua: la expresión oral, la interacción oral, la comprensión auditiva, la comprensión lectora y la expresión escrita. El curso es muy práctico y se exige la participación activa del alumno.

Objetivos

Al término de esta materia el estudiante habrá alcanzado el nivel del B2 del Marco Común Europeo de referencia para las lenguas En este nivel el estudiante ampliará  sus conocimientos de Inglés para llegar a expresarse con fluidez, precisión y eficacia sobre una amplia serie de temas tanto generales como específicos.

Contenidos temáticos

• Oral production: Students will practice speaking skills related to areas including: comparing different tourist destinations, discussing good and bad points about a city, planning a home renovation, giving opinions on financial matters, discussing moral dilemmas, discussing programmes about crime, talking about inventions, telling stories about coincidences, giving an important piece of news and describing and comparing brave and important people.
• Listening comprehension: The student will practice from a range of texts both on CD and via video. Subject areas which will be practised include: describing a trip, flat‐hunting, personal finance, inventions, a music documentary, alternative medicine, chasing a dream and an extract from a thriller.
• Reading comprehension: The student will study a range of text‐types including: short essays, newspaper articles, web pages, and leaflets. Students will practise assimilating information in order to be able explain content via summarizing.
• Written production: The student will practise a range of writing types from essays and short articles to blogs and leaflets. Model texts will be provided to help students improve.

Sistema de evaluación

La nota final se compondrá como sigue: 50% evaluación de los objetivos del curso (participación, deberes y trabajo autónomo), 10 % proyecto y 40% el examen final. Este último comprenderá la totalidad del programa y tiene que estar aprobado para poder aplicar estos porcentajes.

Se utilizará libro, plataforma digital y materiales complementarios que se facilitarán a través de blogs.
